Job Purpose To maintain sterile clean-room standards across multi-temperature warehouse facilities, preventing biological cross-contamination and ensuring full compliance with national food hygiene laws (R638). Key Responsibilities Deep-clean and sanitize cold-storage rooms, blast freezers (-20°C), and ambient warehouse zones using industrial chemical cleaners and automated scrubbers. Execute continuous sanitation schedules for specialized food handling areas, high-touch warehouse surfaces, and loading bays to prevent pest entry. Safely handle, dilute, and store chemical cleaning agents according to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) guidelines. Collect, segregate, and dispose of organic food waste, damaged packaging, and general refuse according to municipal environmental standards. Report any structural damage, leaks, or temperature deviations noticed in freezer walls or bays during cleaning sweeps.
- Qualifications & Requirements
- Grade 10 or Grade 12 certificate.
- 1+ years of experience cleaning in an industrial warehouse, food manufacturing plant, or hospitality kitchen setup.
- Familiarity with HACCP principles or chemical safety protocols is a strong asset.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and handle extended periods working inside sub-zero freezer spaces.
