Job Purpose To implement, monitor, and maintain Bidfood's stringent food safety management systems across storage, handling, and distribution phases, ensuring 100% compliance with South African regulatory standards and HACCP certification. Key Responsibilities Conduct daily temperature monitoring checks across cold storage rooms, freezers, and delivery fleet vehicles. Perform internal food safety audits, manage corrective actions, and prepare the branch for external HACCP/FSSC 22000 audits. Oversee supplier quality compliance, including product return inspections and non-conformance logging. Facilitate food safety and hygiene training for warehouse, cleaning, and driving personnel. Manage pest control programs and overall facility sanitation standards.
- Qualifications & Experience
- National Diploma or BTech in Food Technology, Environmental Health, or Consumer Science.
- Certified HACCP / Food Safety Management System training.
- 2 years of QA/QC experience within a food manufacturing, distribution, or high-volume catering environment.
- Deep understanding of R638 (Regulations Governing General Hygiene Requirements for Food Premises).
